Glass Value-chain Maturity Score

Definition

Glass Value-chain Maturity, or GVM, is a working framework for evaluating companies exposed to the glass substrate cycle. The original lead source proposed five axes; this page adapts them into a diligence scorecard that must be backed by primary evidence before any company graduates beyond watchlist.

Five axes

  1. Process bottleneck control.
  2. Customer qualification depth.
  3. Capex recovery visibility.
  4. Order pipeline depth.
  5. Multi-application readiness.

First-pass scoring posture

Do not use numerical rankings yet. Evidence quality is uneven.

How to use it in diligence

For any candidate, ask:

  • Which process step does it control, and is that step actually scarce?
  • Which customers have qualified or sampled the process?
  • What capex has been deployed, and how quickly can it be recovered?
  • Is there evidence of orders, backlog, or tool pull-ins?
  • Does the same process serve AI accelerators, HBM4, CPO, and photonic integration?
  • What does the current stock price already discount?
